The Afghani Talibs have killed the Afghan-translator kidnapped together with Daniele Mastrogiacomo - the Italian journalist of La Repubblica newspaper on April, 5th, 2007.
After this the representative of Taliban movement has declared that they wanted much, but the government could not execute their requirements. Therefore they have killed the translator.
Let’s remind, that on March, 19th, 2007, D.Mastrogiacomo has been released. The Talibs have agreed to release the journalist only after the government of Afghanistan has gone on concessions and, in particular, has released five members of Taliban movement from their prisons.
According to insurgents, the Italian journalist has been transferred to elders of local tribes after two members of Taliban movement have been released from the prison.
However, kidnappers have declared, that the Italian citizen can be again taken in hostages if authorities would not release one more member of the grouping.
It is not the first time that Afghani Talibs kidnap foreigners and then change them on the imprisoned members of Taliban movement.
