In the accepted resolution it is spoken, that plans about expansion of the American military presence at Iraq “mismatch national interests of the country”.
The representative of the Republican Party who has supported the initiative of democrats, the senator from Nebraska, has declared that it was not strategy anymore, but a play with lives of Americans soldiers. He also said that it was a high time to abstain from the next mistake and refuse from sending 22 thousand American soldiers to the meat grinder.
The resolution has a recommendatory character. Now Georges Bush’s plan concerning Iraq will be directed to the Senate’s consideration.
The resolution opposes Bush’s intentions to direct to Iraq in addition 21500 soldiers for maintenance of safety and the termination of intercommoned collisions.
In the beginning of this month the resolution has been offered by three influential members of the Senate who have called for the prompt transfer of powers on a safety in Iraq to the Iraq government.
