British policemen have detained 8 persons suspected in terrorist operations

Police vans have parked directly near Islamic bookshop Maktabah on the Road to Stratford, which in the Sparkhill Birmingham area, the central England at a dawn of January, 31st 2007. It was one of set of the addresses involved in night attacks of antiterrorism by police which has led to eight arrests. 

The British policemen have arrested eight men, which in a consequence have been described in mass media as “the main antiterrorist operation” in the city of Birmingham (in the north of London).  

The police have told that the suspected persons have been detained “on suspicion in the sponsoring, preparation or initiation of actions of terrorism”.  

The Associated Press agency has informed mass media that “the main terrorist attack” has been prevented. 

As it became known, the plan which was in already at last stage of preparation, provided the departure from recent al-Qaeda bombardments and has been intended for the separate person, instead of aimed at generation of mass victims.  

Nevertheless, the arrests have not been concerned any “the certain threat” in and around of area of Birmingham, the city which has a great Muslim population. It was demonstration of the fact that officials of antiterrorist Scotland Yard’s department have been involved into the operation.  

The representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in London has declared that this operation was a reminder of the real, serious and global nature of terrorist threat.
