Darfur Conflict Investigation
The main public prosecutor has emphasized, that, by available certificates and proofs, Ahmed Haroun
and Ali Kosheib, (a pseudonym for Ali Mohammed Ali) bear the greatest responsibility for crimes in a Sudanese province Darfur against the state minister on humanitarian affairs of Sudan and the high-ranking commander the Arabian military formations.
Since the beginning of 2003, Sudanese military formations (the so-called “Janjaweed” military groupings) have been committing crimes against ordinary people; their crimes had the discriminating racial character and occurred in Darfur- the western region of Sudan, bordering Chad. In the result of such anti-human and ethnic-clearing operations more than 2 million Darfur inhabitants were forced to leave their homes. More than a half of these people are now living in camps and towns. These people are afraid of coming back to Darfur because of rapes, attacks and looting. Now, more that 1 million of people require humanitarian aid, food and medical assistance.
